Tech Industry Revenue Seen Rising 4 Percent in 2021, CTA Says

The coronavirus pandemic has largely been good to tech businesses. During the virtual International CES this week, the Consumer Technology Association announced its annual forecast for the consumer electronics industry. CTA says that the industry defined as “retail sales revenue for the technology industry” will reach $461 billion in the U.S. in 2021. That would represent a 4.3 percent increase over 2020, which was a record year. CTA, which is both the producer of CES and an advocacy organization on behalf of the industry, releases such a forecast twice a year. The organization also made forecasts about trends related to specific product categories.

They are not. At Girls Who Code, we do everything in our power to combat the idea that coders are just men hunched over computers. Our girls create apps and write code to solve climate change, combat bullying, raise awareness about voting rights and gun control and menstruation stigma. Recently, one of our alumnae founded an organization for the 3D printing of thousands of units of personal protective equipment for frontline workers.
